Welcome; ok, so the last couple of posts have been a little surreal—time to change it up a bit.
Yep, I am talking about a positive post. When times get hard, depression can set in with everything weighing on your shoulders. We all go through it. If you are lucky enough not to have been in this situation, well, be grateful. To all the rest of us. We need to turn to other things to help us stay on the positive side.
Lets face it sometimes life is like a waterfall it flows smoothly then you go over the cliff to find turbulence tossing from side to side, up then down with no way out. Then in a swish it is still rough before the calm once again.
- Recite the Serenity Prayer
- Meditation
- Watch the wildlife outside the window
- Interact with my granddaughter
- Chocolate
- A hot cup of tea with honey/hot chocolate
- Write in my journal
- Hot bubble bath
- Half a glass of red wine(only when it’s real bad)
- A nice long drive by myself while I listen to music
Ok, so, some of the things I have done to help me to stay on the positive side of things as my world falls apart around me is:
Do you know what helps you to calm down?
While you think about it, take the time to write down your list. Then category your list from less to most relaxing. That way, when your level of stress goes up, because you are frustrated to the bone you can go through your list to help bring your stress down and your mood up.
Another thing you can do is breathe deeply as you think about your loved ones, plus all you have in your life. Then remember those who are homeless and have far less than you. If you are one of the unfortunate ones to be homeless keep your chin up it will get better. Life might seem bleak right now however over time your circumstances will change for the better.
Be thankful you are where you are in your life. Yeah, finances might be tight bills piled to the ceiling, but they are temporary. You make a budget pay what you can and go with the flow. It will get better.
The saying live, laugh, love is one is a saying to live by daily. Not always is this easy to do, but it can be done. Life is what you make of it not what it can give you.
You are not alone in life. Talk to friends and family. Let them know how you feel. You never know someone might be able to help you in your situation. Support is always good to have in life.
I am no doctor. If you get to the point, you feel like hurting yourself or someone else, please seek out a professional doctor who can help you with medicine if needed. Don’t act on your feelings. You will only hurt yourself and others. I know life can beat you down to the point you think it is hopeless. I am living proof you can get through some of the darkest times. Don’t get me wrong I still complain about things, I have to stop myself think of what I have and were I was. It puts a smile on my face, grateful life has turned around for the better.
